What the Hill Holds

Barry Thomson’s work explores the quiet, powerful presence of Scotland’s many landscapes. As someone who finds constant inspiration in the outdoors and avid walker, his process is about translating the feeling of being in these environments—the sense of scale, the isolation, and the ever-changing weather—into paint. These pieces represent his ongoing dialogue with the Scottish terrain and his desire to share the beauty of these spaces with a wider audience.
