Jacquie originally trained as a teacher, later retraining as a psychotherapist and then managing a counselling service in a school for students with complex medical needs. On retirement, she discovered her passion for creative writing, travel and love for the natural world.
She has written an unpublished family archive memoir and is now working on Travelling with Memories. Several pieces from this have been published in the CITYLIT anthology, Between the Lines.
Living in the suburbs of London, she made her first trip to Scotland with her young children in the early nineties, enjoying walking and exploring sea life in pools by the loch edges. Her son died from a rare spinal cancer when he was thirteen, and since then she has come to consider the Highlands as her spiritual home, visiting annually, usually around the summer solstice and finding comfort in its beauty and peace.
