Bethan is a Highland-raised artist and designer, past student of Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, and Bridge House Art in Ullapool. She currently works for an outdoor clothing brand in the Peak District. Since living in the Peak, she has been unanimously awarded the 2021 Peak District Artisans Young Emerging Artist award, which has enabled her to develop her artwork further while taking part in shows with them. In July 2021, Bethan had her first solo exhibition, ‘Out There’, at the Alchemist Gallery in Dingwall, which showed a collection of her paintings inspired by the Northern Highlands she loves and knows so well.
Bethan is a passionate hill runner and climber, and explores these experiences in her paintings where style and colour-palettes portray wild landscapes with realistic and abstract contours, shapes and shadows that offer new glimpses into these wild and iconic places.
